Web16 jul. 2015 · Hi, I have finally been diagnosed I assume correctly, with Chronic Bronchitus. I feel pretty good but I am now starting to cough. It is not frequent but it is sometimes bad. Very little mucus at this point. I am looking for any fellow sufferers as to how to best manage it. I take Breo, which pulmonary doc says is keeping my pft's normal range. WebExtra mucus is produced to trap any irritants and prevent them entering the lungs. The cilia become unable to cope with excessive secretions and therefore the mucus blocks the airways. This is known as Reversible Airways Obstruction. The mucus goes deeper into the lungs and becomes harder to clear. Excessive secretions are liable to infection.
